Kings Canyon National Park

Originally established in 1890 as General Grant National Park, today we know this outdoor oasis as Kings Canyon National Park. Renamed for the natural valley carved by a glacier, Kings Canyon, the park encompasses over 460,000 acres. Kings canyon is located in California, north of the Sequoia National Park, and is part of the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks system.

Among some of the natural landscapes in Kings Canyon, you will find 14,000 foot peaks, rivers, meadows and some of the largest sequoia trees anywhere in the world. It's no wonder so many people travel to explore this vast area. With a focus on preservation, there is limited lodging near Kings Canyon. This is intentional to help preseve its natural state and splendour.

Kings Canyon is home to a variety of wildlife including wild deer and bears. The meadows and groves located at the base of the canyon provide a rich environment for wildife to reproduce and thrive. You will be able to enjoy all the park has to offer while hiking and exploring. With a varied landscape, Kings Canyon will amaze you with its lakes, rivers, meadows, cliffs and patches of sequoia trees.
